The newly formed Lookout Mountain Club offers members the best of both worlds.
Fairyland Club and Lookout Mountain Golf Club have recently merged to combine all of their services and amenities into one club.
This merger has been in the works for two years. It allows club members a more streamlined service with upgraded amenities and a variety of membership packages.
Overcoming Hidden Obstacles
Both the Lookout Mountain Golf Club and the Fairyland Club had extensive histories of more than 90 years. Because they were so established, there were surprising hurdles to this merger.
Five families spearheaded this merger on Lookout Mountain two years ago. It had actually already been attempted more than once in the past, but was met with opposition by members of both clubs.
Throughout their time as individual clubs, both Fairyland and the Golf Club competed for the same market share on Lookout Mountain. They both offered dining, but only the Golf Club offered golf. Fairyland offered tennis, a swimming pool, and a gym.
Separate Clubs, Separate Amenities
Say, one family member wanted to play golf while another wanted to go swimming. The family would have to pay two separate membership and initiation fees to take advantage of both.
In spite of the local opposition, the merger finally passed and the clubs were allowed to merge.
Now, families can pay one membership and initiation fee to play golf and utilize the other amenities offered by both clubs.
New Amenities, Same Great Locations
The Lookout Mountain Club now offers two membership options. Full membership comes with access to all of the amenities of both clubs, including golf. Regular membership includes everything except golf.
Club organizers have structured the fees in a way that allows younger families to join in on the fun.
The merger also lets the two club locations refinance and upgrade their facilities. In addition, there are now extra venue options for members to host events.
Harmony (and fun!) Reigns on Lookout Mountain
The newly merged Lookout Mountain Club offers lunch options at the Golf Club, with banquet food available at Fairyland. Breakfast and Sunday brunch are now served weekends at the Golf Club.
Other fun new amenities (available to all memebrs!) include:
- Yoga classes
- Barre classes
- Water Aerobics in the summer
- Pickleball
- Regular family events
- Wednesday night poolside dinners (Fairyland)
- Thursday night fried chicken dinner (Golf Club)
