It’s no wonder over 170,000 people call Chattanooga home, making it the 4th largest city in the United States.

The New York Times named Chattanooga one of the top 45 places to go in the world, being one of the 4 places named in the U.S, with the other three locations in California. Along with its outdoor adventures, the Scenic City also offers its residents and tourists amazing restaurants and events, keeping people active, engaged, and involved in the community.

Tennessee Outdoor Adventures

MountaintopWith so much to do in the Scenic City, there is never an excuse for a dull moment. With amazing views of the mountains of Southeast Tennessee and the Tennessee River, hiking, biking, being outdoors are common activities. The Tennessee River Walk is a 13 mile trail that goes alongside the river. Meanwhile, the Great Eastern Trail goes right through the city center and provides hikers with the vital connection to the Appalachian Trail North in Virginia and the Pinhoti Trail in South Georgia. Aside from hiking, tourists and residents can enjoy horseback riding, hunting, fishing and more in these areas. Also, the city and various organizations are always hosting events for children and adults, such as triathalons, decathalons, and more!

For those less interested in nature and wildlife outings, Chattanooga features a variety of exciting indoor attractions. The North Shore district, which was recently renovated and includes a variety of small boutiques, stores, and amazing restaurants. The Chattanooga Market was named one of the “Top 10 Public Markets in America.” Get the best of both worlds at the Tennessee Aquarium. Also, make sure to check out the Delta Queen, a floating hotel that is permanently docked at Coolidge Park.
